Sony sold 4.5 million copies of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

Sony has managed to sell 4.65 million copies racing simulator Gran Turismo 5 Prologue for the three years that have elapsed since the game’s release, reports CVG, with reference to a series of studio developers Polyphony Digital.
According to a report the studio, in total during the lifetime of the series in the world has sold more than 55 million copies of various parts. In this case the best-selling game of the series so far is Gran Turismo 3: A-spec, which was released in 2001 and sold more than 14 million specimens.
The second line of sales rankings in the series takes Gran Turismo 4, dispersed copies 10,98 million copies. In third place was the first game in the series: to date, has sold 10.85 million copies.
Even in 2006 it was announced that the studio is working on a fifth part of a series exclusively for PlayStation consoles 3. Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is an extended demo version of the full game, which has not yet been released. Its release had been repeatedly postponed. According to the latest version, Gran Turismo 5 should appear on sale in late 2010. The developers have promised to create a sixth of the series, which, they say, do not have to wait so long.
