Boeing suditsya with Alcoa due to the supply of defective parts

U.S. aerospace corporation Boeing Co. (BA) filed a lawsuit against the company Alcoa Inc. (AA), accusing it of supplying defective parts, reports The Seattle Times.

Under the statement of claim, the company Boeing has received from Alcoa components of titanium alloys that contain manufacturing defects. Bad parts were installed on fighter aircraft F-22 Raptor. Boeing Company notified the U.S. Air Force on installing defective parts, and it was a joint decision to leave them on airplanes as replacement parts would lead to significant costs and delivery time would have disrupted the aircraft in the troops. Nevertheless, for safety it was decided to carry out maintenance of fighter more often than usual.

Boeing Company requires Alcoa reimbursement of the costs in the amount of $12 million, the actual cost Boeing for additional checks fighters are estimated at $6.4 million, but the company wants Alcoa also reimbursed her and all court costs.
